By signing up, your electric bill is ‘rounded up’ to the next highest whole dollar amount. For instance, if your actual electric bill is $83.87, it will be rounded up to $84. The additional 13 cents provides monetary assistance for various charitable and non-profit organizations.
Anza Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AEC) came to be because of the Rural Electrification Act established by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1936 allowing rural communities to get funding to bring power to their areas. AEC was energized in 1955. Unlike Public Utilities, electric coopertives are owned by their members and focus on their member needs and local priorities. AEC's service area is nearly 700 square miles providing power to the communities of Anza, Garner Valley, Pinyon Pines and parts of Aguanga. AEC is governed by the Seven Cooperative Principals.
